Zero Harm
We see safety as both a responsibility and a part of how we work every day. It is built into how our leaders lead, how teams operate, and how employees behave. Across all our sites, we aim to create a culture where everyone looks out for their own safety and others. Clear procedures, regular training, and open reporting help us prevent incidents and improve how we manage risks on the ground.

Our Philosophy
At Aditya Birla Group, we don’t just talk about safety. We live our ‘Zero Harm’ vision every day, everywhere. We are committed to safeguarding our employees, contractors, and community where we empower every person so that everyone returns home safely each day.
Safety Culture
We drive a proactive safety culture through industry-leading programs designed to prevent risks and empower our people with the right skills and tools. We weave safety into our sustainability fabric, backed by top-down commitment and bottom-up engagement.
Key Elements:

Zero-Harm Vision
Zero fatalities, zero serious injuries and zero high-potential incidents by 2035.

Leadership Pledge
Safety is non-negotiable at ABG and every employee personally owns the outcome.

Culture Model
Progressing from a Calculative dependent mindset to a Proactive independent and Generative interdependent mindset.
Our Approach
We follow a structured approach that bridges our current practices with our future vision of best-in-class safety performance.
Performance Monitoring
We track a mix of proactive and reactive indicators to monitor safety performance. Proactive measures include behaviour-based observations, process safety metrics, and benchmarking through tools like ABG-SAP to support baseline assessments and assurance. Reactive indicators focus on actions taken after incidents such as event-driven reviews, completion of Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), and targeted efforts to prevent Serious Injuries and Fatalities (SIFs).
Safety Enablers
To drive consistent and measurable improvements in safety performance, we rely on a combination of digital platforms, behaviour-based tools, and structured training. These enablers help us capture data effectively, influence on-ground behaviour, and build the capabilities needed to manage risks and respond proactively across all levels of the organisation.
1. Enablon Platform
The Enablon platform serves as the central hub for safety data across the Group, integrating incident reports, safety observations, and audit findings into one system. With built-in AI analytics, the platform helps flag high-risk areas and supports advanced root cause analysis (RCA) to identify gaps in design, systems, culture, and behaviour enabling informed, data-driven decision-making for risk reduction.
2. Behaviour-Based Safety Module
The BBS module enables identification and logging of safety-critical behaviours observed in the workplace. It helps address unsafe behaviours through prioritizing and solving problems through counselling and targeted actions, while promoting safe behaviour.
3. Training & Competency
Our training efforts are focused on building safety leadership and technical skills across various levels. Key programmes include INSPIRE, which develops safety leadership capabilities; REBOOT, which raises awareness around process safety; Advanced Incident Investigation training based on the TapRooT® RCA method; and dedicated BBS training for line managers to help them guide and model safe practices.
